Guest Comments

Casa Palmeira is a wonderful place for a holiday, and over the years our guests seem to have thoroughly enjoyed the villa and Parque da Floresta. Here are a few of the comments from our guest book.

  • Beautiful villa located in stunning golf resort

Great villa with lovely pool and gardens. Various options to eat and relax both indoors and outside the villa. The property was clean and spacious and a great choice for a family holiday. There are so many stunning beaches in this part of the Algarve. Our favourites are Salema, Zavial, Mareta and Amado (especially good for body boarding). We really enjoyed our holiday in your villa. You have it fitted out very well and it was such a lovely place to stay for 2 weeks. It is great to see that Parque Da Floresta is looking so good and well maintained again. Last time we were out there (3 years ago) quite a few building projects appeared to have been put on hold and I think that the resort was having a bit of a tough time financially. It certainly looked very well maintained this time

    Excellent Property. Well appointed

We have been renting villas in this area for many years and would highly rate Casa Palmeira, which has character and a homely feel. The bedrooms are very well appointed, the kitchen has everything which you could need with high spec crockery and cookware. There is also a downstairs kitchen which is very well stocked for the pool area. The living space is very comfortable and the study is a bonus. The infinity pool is a good size for serious swimmers and the outside patio area and gardens were lovely. The owners were very helpful and had a lovely attitude towards renting their property. Would definitely rent this one again.

    Hidden Gem!

Casa Palmeira was one of those places you come across that you never want to leave again! It was luxurious, spacious, well designed with great attention to detail everywhere.
The comfortable living areas, beautiful bedrooms and extremely well equipped kitchen (have never found Cath Kidston mugs nor Le Creuset cookware in any previous holiday lettings before!) made it a joy to holiday in for two weeks. We were 3 families staying there across two weeks at different times and enjoyed all aspects that Casa Palmeira had to offer. The gorgeous pool and hot tub made it very special too and we have some great memories amongst us now as adults, not to mention how much fun our varying aged children (10-17 years) all had too.
Spotlessly clean and well managed throughout our stay dealing with the owners and also the villa/site manager with any queries.
Whilst the nearest town Salema only had a limited number of restaurants which were good, would recommend that having dinner in Lagos just a 25 minute drive away is worth considering too particularly for a little more atmosphere in the evenings. We also loved the Paraiso restaurant overlooking the beach in Praia da Luz for brunch!
Amongst our party of energetic children (including 4 teenagers) all thoroughly enjoyed the watersports on offer in Luz (paddle boarding, pedalo slides, donut and inflatable sofa rides and jet skiing). They also tried surfing and bodyboarding at nearby Cordoama beach which was fabulous.
Would highly recommend this villa and holiday to anyone wanting a relaxing, away from it all break with spectacular views and comfort but with the option to do plenty nearby in under 30 mins by car. A hidden gem indeed!

Beautiful villa in a fantastic location

Casa Palmera is every bit as beautiful as the pictures. Set in an envious position overlooking the golf course and equipped with everything you could hope for in a holiday villa (including a roof top balcony perfect for an evening tipple), we couldn't recommend it enough. We ate twice in Lagos (20 minutes away) at Cafe Xpreitaqui and A Petisqueira both of which were extremely enjoyable and great value. The beaches past Villa do Bispo were also a great find all contributing to a fantastic holiday.

Superb well appointed villa on golf course

This is a spacious 4 bed villa just over an hour form Faro airport. The villa and beautiful gardens give loads of spaces to sit and relax in peace or to eat alfresco. All very clean and well maintained. The roof terrace was a great hit with us with evening drinks and canapes. Pool is a good size and although it may seem odd in the heat, the Jacuzzi was a bonus. With 7 years of villa holidays under our belt, this is certainly the best appointed with plenty of crockery, glasses and good quality kitchen equipment so anyone keen to do a bit more cooking with local produce can do so easily. Maid service was included plus good pool towels, a first for us and a bonus not to have to pack these! The villa is right on the golf course. It is not as expensive as some of the neighboring courses, and we played with our teenage kids regularly. You can play and pay for just 9 holes front or back which is great so a good place to go with keen youngsters or beginners but not wanting the pay the exorbitant green fees of other locations. We also used the tennis courts and driving range. Spa is onsite and back and neck massage is a must for girls! Shopping very easy with a good supermarket literally 3 minutes from the entrance to the complex and excellent for fresh meat and fish. There is a great gas BBQ at the villa. We ate out several times while there visiting three restaurant in the nearest village. you can walk down to the village or the taxi company is very efficient and reasonably priced. Food was sensational especially the fish as you would expect! Our teenagers also ordered take away pizza one night from one of the restaurants on site. Certainly recommend this property to friends it is a high quality villa in an excellent location.

    Exceptional Holiday Villa
The villa is situated within Parque de Floresta, with upper terrace views over the golf course and surrounding countryside. The villa is on two levels with living accommodation and a fabulous master bedroom suite on the first floor leading out on a terrace overlooking the pool and 3 further spacious bedrooms on a lower level all with doors to the garden and pool. The villa is very well equipped with every form of kitchen utensil and several fridges to keep food and chilled drinks. Located in a cul de sac it is very peaceful with no through traffic and security vehicles patrolling regularly. The outside areas are beautiful, with several terraces, sunny spots and shady areas. The heated pool and Jacuzzi are lovely for any time of the day swims. The golf course is challenging, especially with the strong winds but a lot of fun with a great spike bar offering 19th hole refreshments and snacks. For a nicer meal playa da luiz has a lovely Chinese which is excellent value for money and for something special chiccas which is more expensive with a very interesting owner! Salema and Bergau beaches are within 20 minutes and are gorgeous. A car is essential but taxis are very reliable. We chartered a yacht from Lagos which was such a treat. The holiday was for a special occasion and it really was the perfect place. We will be returning.

  • As good as it looks!
Casa Palmeira is just as lovely as the photos suggest. It is very spacious - we were a family group of 3 generations and it fitted us all perfectly. Granny and Gramps took the luxurious master suite which is on the ground floor. Our grown up kids and smaller grandkids shared the 3 lower rooms with one en suite and one shared bathroom. All bed linen and towels are good quality. The villa was spotless and we appreciated a mid way clean up. The pool is the main attraction, surrounded by beautifully kept gardens. The owners were very helpful with planning our trip and easy to deal with. Highly recommended!

Villa was as described by both website and through direct dialogue with owner. Very clean, tidy and extremely well equipped. Home from home: you want for nothing in the villa, it has everything, even a study with full internet if you need to keep an eye on business back home. Owner and local support were very approachable, pleasant and helpful: very easy to deal with. A car is essential if you wish to get out and about as villa is located within a (tasteful) golf course development and not within walking distance of any amenities or local infrastructure (except the (chargeable) golf centre factilies: big pool, gym, sauna, steam room, spa, restuarant which are nice). Local InterMarche supermarket is about 5 mins drive from villa and well stocked for all your needs including fuel. Lovely seaside villages of Salema and Burgau and coast line are very close by car (less than 10 mins) and offer exceptional beaches and nice restuarants / bars for the day or evening, although imagine very crowded in height of summer season: not too spoilt by the modern villa developments. Lagos about 25 mins drive. The old town and fish market (eat fresh fish all the time when in Portugal!) worth the trip and has everything you would expect of a sizeable town with fishing port and marina. Western Algarve less developed than East and Central and in our opinion the best of the Algarve: open countryside, the best beaches, less developed and best villages and local restuarants. Sagres and nearby beaches the place to head for surfers! The villa has it all and if you wish to just laze in the (warm) swimming pool or hot tub and shop locally and cook or BBQ in the fully equipped villa kitchen then this is ideal. The villa garden is immaculate and clearly much effort to keep it manicured: enjoy the flowers, shrubs and trees across the terraces and garden spaces to laze about (including hammock). We looked around the golf park and think this villa is one of the best located at the end of quiet cul-de-sac with clear views across golf course and countryside from the balconies. Would recommend to families. Our kids (3-9) just wanted to spend all days in the pool, hot tub and running around the garden. If you are golf fans then I imagine having such a great golf course on your doorstep just adds to this villa. We noticed how the golf course was very well maintained, as is the park overall (unlike some others in the Algarve).

  • This is our sixth visit to this superb villa and would recommend it to anyone who wants a great family holiday. Pool and hot tub are amazing and the villa itself has everything you could want. The owner is always incredibly helpful and goes out of her way to make sure that all goes smoothly. Area is full of amazing beaches and unspoilt villages - heaven!
